TBMag Issue 27 Is Here — And the World Looks Very Different This Spring
Editor’s Note — Issue 27, Spring 2026
We planned this issue as a celebration. Of connection — between London and Istanbul. Of the entrepreneurs, artists, and communities that make the Turkish-British relationship one of the richest cultural partnerships in contemporary Britain.
Then, on the night of Saturday 28 February — the very day Issue 27 was published — Operation Epic Fury began. By the time our readers opened this edition, British jets were in the air over the Gulf, an Iranian drone had struck RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, and Prime Minister Keir Starmer was addressing a House of Commons that knew, suddenly, that this conflict was no longer simply ‘over there.’
We have updated this issue accordingly. Our International Desk has covered the war, the retaliation, and Britain’s delicate position with the same clarity and care we try to bring to every story. And we have held, alongside that coverage, everything else we had planned — the art, the design, the technology, the culture — because a magazine that speaks to two countries must hold both their emergencies and their beauties at the same time.
That tension is, in many ways, what TBMag has always been about.
Welcome to Issue 27. The world looks different this spring. We’re watching it closely — from London, from Istanbul, and from everywhere in between.
🌱 TBMag Issue 27 — Spring 2026 is live.
We planned a spring issue about creativity and connection. Then the world intervened.
This issue holds contradictions — because that’s what this moment demands.
🔴 WAR Iran struck a British military base in Cyprus. We cover the full story — and Starmer’s measured, significant response.
🎨 ART Two Turkish women founding a gallery in Southampton. Turkish cinema winning at Berlinale. Tarkan’s concerts becoming something larger than pop.
💼 BUSINESS Istanbul’s tech corridor meeting London’s. AI reshaping advertising in both cities. Turkish investment arriving quietly in English football.
🌿 DESIGN & HEALTH Mine Ovaçık’s Cocoon Collection. Mr Togay Koç redefining orthopaedic care in the UK.
This is what it means to sit between two countries, two cultures, two worlds — right now, in spring 2026.
