Embracing Creativity, Culture & AI Insights in the UK & Turkey

Dear Readers,

While Turkey battles scorching heat, we are strolling in our winter coats in the cool July weather of England. Fueled by our love for vacations, we have prepared this special 20th issue for you. In this edition, we dedicated our cover story to those working in creative industries, just like us. To prepare the cover story, we conducted a mini-survey with about 100 friends working in the creative industries in the UK. Based on the survey results, we conducted brief interviews with four friends from different creative sectors and compiled them for you. We hope you enjoy it.

On July 4th, the Labour Party achieved a significant victory in the UK general elections, coming to power after a 14-year hiatus. You can find in-depth analyses and our writers’ insights on this topic in this issue.

Artificial intelligence has rapidly integrated into our lives, and we have gathered the latest developments on this subject for you. Additionally, we have compiled the startups to watch in Turkey. We reviewed and wrote about the report on Turkish startups prepared by Endeavor Turkey and Akbank LAB, sponsored by Akbank.

In this issue, you will find features on The Turkish Detective series airing on the BBC, the new venture and social channel Gather-in by Mehmet Ali Alabora and Tan Morgül, the London Turkish Architects Association, Turkish sculptor Ayhan Mutlu, the safest neighborhoods and popular areas among Turks in London, a flavorful journey through London’s Turkish enclaves (Dalston, Harringay, and Stoke Newington), and the new taste of Istanbul in Soho, Yeni.

In addition, we are delighted to share another exciting development. The organisation behind our magazine and our work in the cultural and creative industries, the TB Center for Cultural and Creative Industries (C4CCI), has secured the prestigious Creative Collaboration Grant from the British Council in Turkey. In collaboration with the Sustainable Art Cooperative (Susako), C4CCI will lead the “Art for Sustainable Living” project. We are thrilled to embark on this stimulating international collaboration project on sustainable art.

As we have mentioned in previous issues, we are a publication focused on creative and cultural industries, introducing Turkish business people in art, design, and technology. We are committed to promoting Turkey and highlighting prominent Turkish organizations in health. We are followed and loved by a wide audience. Stay in touch with us, stay healthy, and have a great holiday. We look forward to meeting you in our September issue.

Warm regards,

Dr. Ayla Torun
