TurkishBank UK Champions Turkish Photography at Photo London 2026 for the Third Consecutive Year
Photo London — the UK’s leading international fair for photography and image-based art — returned for its eleventh edition from 14 to 17 May 2026, making its much-anticipated debut at Kensington Olympia. Amongst the fair’s many highlights, a quietly significant story of cultural bridge-building continued for the third year running: TurkishBank UK’s sponsorship of Turkish Artists and Galleries at Photo London.
Three Years of Commitment to Turkish Photography
TurkishBank UK has now sponsored the participation of Turkish artists and galleries at Photo London for three consecutive years — a commitment that has quietly become one of the most meaningful acts of cultural patronage within the Turkish-British community. By ensuring that Turkish photographers and gallerists have a sustained, supported presence at one of the world’s most prestigious photography fairs, TurkishBank UK has helped place Turkish contemporary photography firmly on the international map.
This is not simply a matter of funding: it is a statement of belief — that Turkish photographic art deserves an audience beyond its own borders, and that the relationship between Turkey and the United Kingdom is enriched, not only by commerce and diplomacy, but by culture.

The Traditional Photo London Reception at Pillar Hall
As has become a cherished tradition, TurkishBank UK hosted a private reception on Saturday 16 May, from 17:00 to 19:00, at Pillar Hall — adjacent to the Grand Hall at Kensington Olympia. The gathering brought together artists, gallerists, collectors, and friends of the Turkish cultural community in London for an evening that reflected the warmth and ambition of this ongoing partnership.
The reception, now in its third year, has become a fixture in the Photo London social calendar — a moment to celebrate Turkish creativity and to strengthen the bonds between the Turkish and British art worlds.
Photo London 2026: A New Chapter at Olympia
This year’s edition marked a pivotal moment in the fair’s history. Following a landmark tenth anniversary, Photo London relocated to Olympia’s National Hall in Kensington — a redeveloped venue that offers significantly larger spaces for gallery presentations, improved visitor flow, and expanded areas for talks, screenings, and collector engagement.
The fair’s 2026 Master of Photography honour was awarded to Steven Meisel, one of the most influential figures in fashion photography worldwide. A rare exhibition of portraits from his first professional assignment in London provided one of the most talked-about moments of the fair.
Across the main fair and expanded curated sections — including Positions, a dedicated platform for emerging voices — visitors encountered ambitious gallery presentations, solo projects, and artist films, reflecting the full breadth of photography today. The 2026 Nikon Emerging Photographer Award and the Student Award shortlists further underlined the fair’s commitment to nurturing new talent.
Turkish Photography on the World Stage
Turkey has a rich and distinctive photographic tradition — one that spans documentary realism, conceptual practice, and a unique intersection of Eastern and Western visual cultures. Yet Turkish photography has historically been underrepresented at the major international art fairs.
TurkishBank UK’s sponsorship at Photo London helps to address that imbalance, offering Turkish galleries and photographers access to an audience of serious international collectors, curators, and critics. Over three years, this presence has begun to shift perceptions and open doors.
