A special screening of Merve Cirisoglu’s striking animated short film, The Silent Route, followed by a Q&A session with the director herself, will be held at London Yunus Emre Institute on Thursday, March 7.

“The Silent Route” is a compelling story following a young woman, accompanied by a newborn and three elderly relatives, as they navigate obstacles at the border during wartime. Through stunning animation and a poignant narrative, Merve Cirisoglu skillfully brings this tale to life, revealing unexpected moments of humanity amidst adversity.

The event will commence with a private screening of “The Silent Route,” offering attendees an opportunity to immerse themselves in the captivating world created by Cirisoglu. Following the screening, the director will share insights into the creative process, providing attendees with a unique glimpse into the making of the film. The evening will conclude with a dynamic Q&A session, allowing attendees to engage directly with Merve Cirisoglu and delve deeper into the themes explored in “The Silent Route.”

Merve Cirisoglu has been creating projects from concept to completion, managing creative projects, budgets, and leading teams of global creatives for over 7 years. Her animations have been screened at over 250 international film festivals, winning 45 prizes, broadcast on TV channels and streaming platforms, and have amassed more than 35 million views on social media. Recognized by the United Nations, she was invited as a top filmmaker to present her movie about the story of refugee children at the UN Headquarters. She shared the background stories of her animated shorts on the TEDx stage and at several film festivals in the UK, Greece, Pakistan, Georgia, Turkey, and Spain. Her projects span multiple pipelines and genres, ranging from 2D original animated shows to digital stop-motion commercials, frame-by-frame touching short films, educational pieces, creative music videos, and bespoke branded content.
