“A Collector’s Story: The Taviloğlu Collection” Exhibition

The “A Collector’s Story: The Taviloğlu Collection” exhibition has opened its doors to visitors. Mustafa Taviloğlu’s art collection, which he began in 1972 and has expanded over more than 50 years, has now been transformed into an exhibition. The exhibition, sponsored by İş Sanat, brings together 2,412 works by 903 artists and awaits art enthusiasts at various venues throughout Istanbul.

Curated by Derya Yücel and Marcus Graf, the exhibition spans seven different venues in Istanbul, each designed with its own thematic concept. İş Sanat’s Kibele Art Gallery hosts part of this unique collection in its first exhibition of the new art season. The collection, which offers a diverse array of artists, periods, styles, and techniques, features around 100 works by 70 artists at Kibele Art Gallery. The theme of this exhibition, titled “People We Know,” spans from the 19th century to the present day.

The exhibition is organized with the support of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the Department of Culture of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the Department of Cultural Heritage of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum, Altınmarka, and Eyüp Municipality, in collaboration with the Contemporary Istanbul Foundation.

“A Collector’s Story” will be on display at various venues until Sunday, December 15th. The thematic exhibitions of the collection can be viewed for free at İş Sanat Kibele Art Gallery, Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum, ArtIstanbul Feshane, Istanbul Sanat, Museum Gazhane, Likör Factory, and Gallery Eyüpsultan.
