 61st Golden Orange’s was marked by ‘Ayşe’ and ‘Mukadderat

The best feature film award of the 61st International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival was won by the film “Mukadderat” directed by Nadim Güç. Binnur Kaya and Nur Sürer in Mukadderat shared the best actress award, while Nejat İşler was awarded the best actor award for his role in Evcilik, directed by Ümit Ünal.

The closing and award ceremony of the 61st International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival hosted by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality was held on October 12 at the Cam Piramit Fair and Congress Center. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek said in his speech that cinema changes and develops not only an audience but also societies, cities and countries. Böcek said, “We made an important decision in our workshop within our festival. As a result of our meetings with the Cinema Work Owners Federation, we will pay the royalties of all film owners who are screened in our festival. May it bring good luck to our cinema workers,” he said.

Best Film Award to Mukadderat

The festival’s jury chaired by the famous Turkish-Italian director Ferzan Ozpetek, Nadim Güç’s film “Mukadderat” won the “Best Film Award” in the National Feature Film Competition. Nadim Güç, who won the best film award with his first film, stated that he will continue to produce and thanked for the award. Nur Sürer, who shared the best actress award for her role in the film, said, “Take your hands off women, children and trees.”

The “Best Director Award” was received by Necmi Sancak, the director of the film “Ayşe”. The Avni Tolunay Special Jury Award was given to Belkıs Bayrak, the director of the film “Gülizar”. Bayrak stated that he wanted to receive his award on behalf of the women of Turkey and the women of Palestine who are trying to protect their lands.

National Feature Film Competition award winners

“Cahide Sonku Award” was given to Yağmur Ergül, the costume designer of the film “Gülizar”, “Best Screenplay Award” was given to Ümit Ünal, the director of the film “Evcilik”, “Best Music Award” was given to Serkan Polat, Özgür Alper and Pınar Bayrak from the film “Balinanın Bilgisi”, “Best Editing Award” was given to Melike Kasaplar, who edited the film “Fidan”.

“Best Art Director Award” was given to Meral Aktan, the director of the film “Gülizar”, “Best Supporting Actress Award” was given to Ayça Bingöl, one of the actresses of the film “Fidan”, and “Best Supporting Actor Award” was given to Osman Sonat for his role in the film “Mukadderat”.

Best Actress Award

The winners of the “Best Actress Award” were Binnur Kaya for her role in the film “Ayşe” and Nur Sürer for her role in the film “Mukadderat”. Binnur Kaya stated that she wanted to receive the award on behalf of all women who dedicated their lives to their loved ones, and that although women formed a unity, shouted and made their voices heard, it was not possible for them to be seen. Nur Sürer stated that she received the award for Yılmaz Güney.

Nejat İşler received the Best Actor Award

Nejat İşler won the “Best Actor Award” for his role in the movie “Evcilik”. The “Best Director of Photography” went to Murat Has, the director of the movie “Balinanın Bilgisi”, and the “Film Direction Award” went to the movie “Ayşe”.

The “Behlül Dal Best First Film Award” went to Necmi Sancak, the director of the movie “Ayşe”, and the “Dr. Avni Tolunay Special Jury Award” went to Belkıs Bayrak, the director of the movie “Gülizar”.

National Short Film Competition award

On the night, the “Best Film Award” was awarded to Cansu Baydar, director of the film “Almost Definitely Wrong” in the “National Short Film Competition”.

The “Jury Special Award” was also given to Ece Dizdar, the scriptwriter and director of the film “Mükemmel”. Dizdar stated that she was excited to receive the “Golden Orange” with a film she wrote and directed, and that they had a wonderful week.

The “Jury Special Award” of the “National Documentary Film Competition” went to the documentary “Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu: Toprağın Sırrına Erenler” directed by Ali Kemal Pasiner, and the “Best Film Award” went to “Kadranı Ölmayan Saat” directed by Fatma Karakuş Kaçmaz.

International Feature Film Competition award

The “Jury Special Award” in the “International Feature Film Competition” was received by Nader Saeivar, director of “The Witness”. Director Saeivar stated that he received his award on behalf of the girls who took to the streets in Iran months ago and expressed his wishes for the end of wars in all countries and the end of femicides.

The “Best Director” award went to Vinko Tomicic for “Dog Thief”, while the “Best Foreign Film” award went to Ana Guevara and Leticia Jorge’s “Don’t You Let Me Go”.

The “Best Actress” award went to Victoria Carmen Sonne for her role in “The Girl with the Needle”, and the “Best Actor” award went to Franklin Aro Huasco for “The Dog Thief”.

Cinema Schools Student Film Competition award

In the “Cinema Schools Student Film Competition”, the “Best Student Film” went to Maltepe University student Abdülhalim Erez, Director of “System”, and the “Jury Special Award” went to the film “Döngü”.
