“About Dry Grasses” Makes the BIFA International Film Longlist!
The British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) has revealed its 2024 longlist for Best International Independent Film. This distinguished category celebrates outstanding independent films from around the globe. Among the spotlighted titles this year are Sean Baker’s acclaimed Anora and Alice Rohrwacher’s La Chimera.
The list of 15 films features some of the finest examples of independent cinema worldwide. Standing out are About Dry Grasses by Nuri Bilge Ceylan and Crossing by Levan Akın, each bringing their unique voices and cinematic visions to the competition.
The final nominees will be announced on Tuesday, November 5th, through BIFA’s official website and social media platforms. Will Ceylan and Akın make it to the final five? We’re eagerly awaiting the results. The 27th BIFA ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 8th, at the Roundhouse, where the winners will be revealed.
